I hope you have had a great week and have exciting plans for your weekend.

I thought I would try something new – I hope you’ll give me your input on this new course, and let me know if you find it valuable.

I thought it might be interesting to send out a Finance Mindset Weekly Review each Friday.

This review will go over interesting things happening in the money world or just interesting content in general.

These weekly reviews may include books I am reading, quotes I have come across – or really anything I hope you will find interesting.

If there are topics or content you come across that you feel others will find interesting, please send it to me and I will gladly highlight it in these emails.

Here we go…

Quote I am pondering:
“It’s like the people who believe they’ll be happy if they go and live somewhere else, but who learn it doesn’t work that way. Wherever you go, you take yourself with you. If you see what I mean.”
Neal Gaiman – The Graveyard Book

This quote really had an impact. As humans we often look to change our environment hoping that will make us happy, but in reality we must look inward first to see what change must be made there.

Stock Market Update:
This has been a volatile week in the stock market to say the least. We saw a 1,000 point swing between Wednesday and Thursday alone. Overall the DOW is down 1.8% and it looks like today is going to be another rough day.

Most of this volatility is being attributed to rising interest rates and tariffs. Stocks are now entering levels of correction territory. This next week will be key.

Finance tip:
Explore the untruths you have accepted and change your mindset about those things. It is often the things we have accepted that are not true that block our progress the most.

Find one money obstacle you have struggled with and break it down into small steps of how you will overcome this challenge. Start with the easiest step and focus on it this coming week.

Ie..if you struggle with budgeting, instead of doing a full budget, try to eliminate one area of wasteful spending throughout this coming week. As you get better at that one item you can slowly move towards a full budget.

Book I am reading:
Anything You Want by Derek Sivers
A short and easy read with 40 lessons for someone considering starting a business – there are also quite a few excellent life lessons in here as well.

Thought I liked from the book: Delegate, but don’t abdicate. This means, there is nothing wrong with delegating while you oversee a process, but once you abdicate and give someone else control over your business you lose your ability to make change and often lose the trust of your employees. This thought of delegating and abdicating can also apply to life outside of business.

This week we saw the biggest Mega Lottery Winner of all time. The winner is still anonymous.

They have two options. They can take the 1.6 billion dollars as a payout over 30 years, or can take a lump sum of 960 million. Either way, I am sure they didn’t go back to work on Wednesday morning after winning.

That’s a wrap. I hope you enjoyed these tidbits from this week. Your feedback is always welcome.

Have a great weekend!
